Cryptum.NET, or Cryptum, as it has become to be known, is the home of Liam Edwards-Playne (liamzebedee), 14 Year Old Programmer. It was founded in 2010 by myself, Liam, as a small project, for no other reason, than to learn web development. At the time of creation, I had absolutely no idea, how to code in HTML, CSS, JS, PHP or any other web languages.
History
I coded many a CMS for Cryptum, each having a different style, different approach. Each interface iteration included a new logo. Until I found WordPress. After installing it in Jan 11, I installed the AutoFocus Theme 1.0.1 by Allan Cole, and heavily modified it to suit my tastes. And thus here we are now.
Cryptum has evolved to suit my own personal purposes. At one stage in 2011 80% of it’s traffic was from Secure.CRYPTUM, a chat service offered to my friends (not exclusive, only we knew about it, it was kinda underground). However over the years, Cryptum has always maintained its mission statement:
To provide unique quality content to people who want it
Cryptum isn’t about malicious SEO. Sure we try to make it easy for our target audience to find content, but we will never try to make Cryptum sound anything more than it is.
Origins
The name for Cryptum was originally ‘creptm’, a combination of the last names of all my friends in 2010. Back then, Cryptum was a mere idea, for a game development company. I registered the domain later in November that year, and it’s been running ever since.
